Default Replacing muffler straps?

I have a stock 2001, with stock original exhaust.

The straps around the rear mufflers (in back of the rear wheels, all the way in the rear of the car) are rusted out. One is rusted thru, and the exhaust is now rattling around. A quick peek under the car suggests that it is just held in place with a couple of bolts connecting the rubber mount block to the frame (or some kind of cross member.) next to the rear body panel. However, I'm wondering if I can easily slip off the old ones and slip on the new one, while leaving the entire exhaust in-place and attached, or if I need to take apart anything else.

thanks,

Steve

Honestly, the easiest thing to do would be to buy a pair of stock exhausts from someone here on the forum. You should be able to pick up a stock exhaust from someone for next to nothing.

You might want to check your intermediate pipe as well.

HTH, and have a good one,
Mike

Default Just need straps

Thanks.

My quick peek under the car suggested that the actual muffler and exhaust pipes were ok, just that (steel?) strap was badly rusted. So I'd rather not do the whole thing at this point.
