I was recently told not to add a NOS system because of the damage it can cause to my engine. I was advised that NOS burned very hot and was more violent in combustion and would eventually wreck havoc with my LS1. Now, I know that there are many members here that run NOS and I've heard of no such problems. I honestly have no experience with this and will appreciate your comments.
You can safely spray a 100 dry shot nd a 150 wet shot on a stock LS1. The key to holding things together is making sure you're fuel system is keeping up with the demand and also using safey pieces such as a fuel pressure safety switch and a window switch to only activate the nitrous from between 3000 and 6000 RPMS.
For those of us that like to push the envelope of things I can tell you from personal experience what kind of damage a 200 dry shot will do to an LS1 on a stock fuel system. :smash:
Actually when nitrous combusts it dramatically COOLS the intake charge, not heat it as your reference has told you :D. That's one of the great power secrets behind how nitrous works and also putting more O2 in there :D

I prefer to administer nitrous to my patients, not my car................
Nitrous is a wonderful thing. One piece of advice. Read about, ask questions, talk to people who use it regularly before YOU install it on YOUR car! <Yes, I recommend YOU install it with some guided help!
When YOU install it, it will teach you about how it works. This is a necssity if you wish not to have an LS1 Boat anchor...
Nitrous does BURN hotter than the normal intake charge but it's a negligable amount in the grand scheme of a combustion engine.
It can "wear" on your engine if you spray too much and/or too long.. Just educate yourself and your LS1 can handle a wet 150 shot just fine!
