I've just begun to experience a problem with my sunvisors not holding in the folded back against the windshield position with the top out on my 99 C5 Coupe. I don't like them folded in the up position partially blocking the sky view, so fold them flat up against the roof pillar and windshield. They've locked into position until recently. Now they hold for a moment, then flop down blocking the view. Any ideas on dealing with this? Must be a worn cam like device inside that's let go.???
I know exactly what you're talking about. It only happens to my passenger side. Have you checked for a loose screw or tightener first?? I haven't. I like them folded up, eventhough you can't see out the window as good you get more sun on you. Feels more like the top is off if they are not flipped out.
Jet Jockey & C5, here's easy fix. Pull the retaining rod piece of the visor (that snaps into the clip) out of the holding clip. Then angle you visor forward an up against the windshield. It stays put and is practically invisible. It will not flop down. Just make sure the rod is pushed under and away from (toward the windshield) the retaining clip on the windshield header. Scruffy
Scruffy ~ I actually have been riding like that for several months now. My visors started drooping many months ago, so pulled the end retainer rod out of the clip and folded it up and back against the windshield. Now, it flops down even in that mode, especially on the passenger's side :( :(
Very annoying to say the least.
So how can you remove it? Or other ideas to remedy????
Check the tech tip section on the forum to remove them. I did it this last weekend and it add alot of need windshield space for me. Know I just need to find a good way to move the mirror to the top of the windshield. I don't want that to fall off every month or two by just pulling it off and glue it back. Any sure fire ideas on that.
