hey dude, your post said LT headers. so theres the tpis, which im having installed next week.they have 1-3/4 primary tubes . which is what you need if your gonna do heads or a cam later.(i bet you will).....then there is the tts header which has 1-5/8 primary tubes.(ive heard if some fitment prob's with these) this is the best choice if your gonna keep the heads and cam stock.my opinion is call shawn at LAPD and buy the tpis headers. want to know anything else? r u gonna be at grill 57' saturday?....Brad
Designed for the mid range torque and power which is where most drive and feel the difference. The quality of material and flanges is better than all but the Belangers, they are equal. You can spend less and get a SOTP difference like you will with Steve's design, but, the final product is not as good in overall quality and finish. I have had both the TTS and Tpis side by side and I can clearly see why the price difference. Most guys never see anything other than the brand of header they buy while they are off the car. Any long tube header looks impressive off the car. Side by side, you can see that the TTS are better made. And, I am not talking about manufacturing defects. If the Tpis are made well, there is still a big difference in quality and thickness of material.
Steve protoyped the 1 3/4" before settling on the 1 5/8"and found that they produce their power in the higher rpm ranges. The 1 5/8" did it's work in the low and mid ranges. You should gain the same form either on a stock head/cam car. If you plan to supercharge or turbocharge or stroke, a bigger diameter tube would be the preference.
I talked to Steve about this very thing this afternoon: He was contemplating making sets of the bigger design, even 1 7/8" for the monster motors some guys are changing to.

What kind of specific fitment problems have you heard about on the TTS? I'd like to know what others are experiencing since we offer them.
RG, sorry dude i dont remember the specifics. its been 2 months since i started looking for headers..i do remember some of the vendors i contacted that sold both the tpis and tts said that they had experienced minor fitment problems with the tts. and that the tpis had NO fitment probs what so ever.even if i remember the which vendors i would not post there names here, that wouldnt be right.....i'm sure the tts are great!ive never heard anything negative about them including the MINOR fitment prob's.......i have tpis lt's on my 95 and i love them . so i prefer the tpis because of past experience and the larger tube size since my car will be getting major mods soon.sorry to netjunkie and for the long post

Wasn't looking for Vendor names, that I can figure Just looking for what the exact fitment problem was...no biggie. Thanks for the response. If they didn't elaborate, that's cool. Perhaps we will hear more on this post.
We haven't had any fitment problems reported by local or distant customers other than their installer not familiar with the install becasue they hadn't done it before.
That brings up a good point. You can buy headers all day long, but, you have to find a qualified installer to make sure they are put on correctly.
