This is on a 02 Corvette Convertible. Anyways, the passenger side window will not go down. I can hear a click, like the window wants to go down if I push either the driver or passenger side buttons. So, I'm thinking it can't be the window motor, maybe just a switch or a solenoid.
Do any of you guys know how I could track this issue down? Will I have to take the door panel off? If so, what is the best method to remove it?
The window regulator comes as an assembly and includes the drive motor, drive cables, and guide rails.
You have to remove the door panel and the window glass to replace the assembly.
Mine just clicked a week ago, but I was able to get mine working again, so I roll the window down and back up every few days.
I think you need to use the windows to keep them working.
I tried pressing the button while shutting the door, and that did not work. Maybe a coincidence, but when I moved the wires around in the rubber boot between the door and the body, mine started workiing again, and is still working.
Turn the key on. Open the door. Hold the button down and rap the door fairly hard near the rgeulator area. It took ~ 10 raps for mine to start working again. Due to lack of use they sometimes stick.
You guys must be right. This is my dad's car, and he rarely has the windows down. In fact he has NEVER put the top down and he's owned the car since March '03. I'm storing the car at my place this winter since I have a garage spot, so I'll try what you guys are talking about.
Just one thing. Where is the regulator located on the door panel?

Thanks again.
The window motor is pretty close to the center of the door. In the area behind where the inside door pull handle is.
Well, I tried what you guys suggested, and the window still isn't working.
I did some searching, and I think I might just remove the door panel. But from my understanding it looks like the window needs to be down to be able to remove the door panel. Is this true?
Also, is the regulator and window motor one piece?
I've also read that the BCM fails as well. What is the BCM?

Search the forum. This is a common issue and replacing the regulator or JUST the motor is covered on several of them. The motor is a $65 part at the local store and if you can walk and chew gum at the same time you can replace it. The door slam works a few times but sooner or later the Bose is gonna yell WTF and quit. Take the door panel off, pull the regulator, replace the motor (watch the cable winding and don't let it get screwed up - don't EVEN ask how I know this can be a problem) and be done with it.

My plan is to replace the motor/regulator. But can I remove the door panel with the window up? I figured out how to removed the panel. I just read that the window needs to be down in order to remove the door panel.
It may be a little more difficult but you should be able to remove the panel. If you have window tinting be extremely careful not to scratch the tint and before you remove the motor/regulator make sheer you have power at the motor when operating the power window switch up and down. If you don’t have power at the motor there’s something else wrong! Good luck!

I can't remember the window-down caution but that doesn't mean it isn't there.
My window was stuck in the up position and I had no problem removing the door panel. In fact, the window needs to be up if you remove the glass. Be sure to mark the position of the mounting blocks on the glass to get the window back in the original position. Even an 1/8th inch forward or backward makes a bad seal with air and water leaks.
Replacing the entire regulator is probably simpler than replacing just the motor. I'm sure it will take less time. The assembly will cost about $210 - $240 depending on where you buy it. Check vendors here and on "that" auction, as well as local parts stores.
About a month ago I had to replace my passenger side window motor/regulator assembly. Its actually pretty easy. Took less than an hour to get installed and properly adjusted.
Here's what you need to do:
1. Remove door panel. Recommend you follow the Vette Essentials instructions for removing the door panel. The window can be up or down.
2. Then you'll see there is a large rubber sound barrier towards the rear of the door (about 1 foot square). Remove this (its just stuck on with adhesive and will restick when you put it back.
3. Then remove the large door speaker near the front of the door. Now you have access to the front and rear of the window.
4. Loosen the 2 bolts (1 front and 1 rear) that hold the window glass in place. Recommend you mark with tape on the window glass where it lines up so it will be easier to put back in without too much adjustment.
5. Now remove the motor/regulator assembly (comes out as 1 unit). Remove the 3 bolts in the center of the door that hold the motor. Then remove the 2 bolts (1 top and 1 bottom) that holds on the rear window track. Then remove the 1 top bolt that holds the front window track. Finally, remove the bottom bolt from the front window track (this bolt is actually on the underside of the door, behind a rubber gasket that you have to remove). This is the only bolt that is adjustable, so take a look to see where the bolt is adjusted to so you know about where to put it back when you put in the new regulator. Look under the door and you'll see what I mean.
6. Now the whole assembly can be removed out the rear hole where the sound barrier was. Don't forget to unplug the motor first, though. The plug doesn't have much slack on it.
7. Now reverse these instructions to put the window back together. Adjust with the bolt for the front track under the door, and the clamps (torx bolts) if necessary.
Good luck! Let me know if you have any questions or run into any problems.

Not true...you can get the door panel off with the glass up. It is easier to unhook the panel with the window down, but if the window is stuck, it is better to be stuck in the up position. The window needs to be up to remove the glass. There are access holes in the door to get to the bolts that clamp the glass to the window regulator channels. You loosen the bolts and the glass lifts right out of the door. If the glass is down in the door, you could not get hold of it to remove it.
