P0719 is related to the brake switch. If the computer detects that the brake is being depressed while the car is accelerating, and this happens numerous times, the PCM assumes there is a fault in the brake switch because you shouldn't be on the brake while accelerating... unless of course you power brake a lot!
P1870 is set when the PCM detects a significant difference between engine speed and the transmission output speed with the TCC (torque converter clutch) engaged. If slip is detected for two consecutive ignition cycles, your check engine light will illuminate. Problems that could cause this range from TCC solenoid problems to internal tranny problems. Hope it's nothing serious!
I just had my brake switch replaced so that my be an explanation for that. Im wondering since Im putting a lot of extra horses down when Ive been racing lately could it be sending the second code.
There is also a TSB to address the 1870 trans code.If you have a 1998-2000
produced before 1/15/99,there is an updated valve body for the trans.A fault in the valve body will also cause a harsh 1-2 shift...The bulletin # is
01-02-30-023,part #24221158....
I noted from you sig. that you have installed 3:42 axle. If the PCM calibration is not properly corrected it will cause a P1870. This code is for too much transmission slippage. If the gear is not corrected properly it will think it's slipping when it is not.
