I installed a shaner ported TB on my 2000.
The ported throttle bodies don't really give much of a hp boost (if any),
but I found that the throttle response is much better, and also the engine and exhaust note got a lot deeper.
The throttle response is the primary reason that I purchased one, it helps alot from a standing start, especially if you have an A4.

5 HP max... you won't feel that, but a professionally ported TB will give smoother throttle resposne.
A poorly done one will leave you with idle surging problems
