I am trying to figure out if my PCM has been reflashed with the newest calibration to address the P1431, erratic fuel gauge readings before I replace the sending unit. Dealer wants $80 to hook up the Tech II and tell me what calibration is installed, and update if needed.
I went to the GM TIS website and typed in my VIN and came up with the calibration history, but am unsure if this is what is installed in my vehicle PCM, or if they are available updates.
I am thinking that the update was complete when they did the column lock recall, original recall 04006, but the labor operation (V1145 - reprogram and functional test) is different than the one listed in the fuel gauge bulletin (J6354 - powertrain reprogram)
Can anybody tell me how to find out if this calibration update was done? Thanks..

Without being able to scan it I would assume that when they did the recall it was installed also. We get no choice when programming most things, it goes down the list and installs all the updates available.
