Yes, but since your answer is "mine isn't lit either" and the other states what is lit on his - is inconclusive to me since the manual shows a diagram for Switch Back Lighting.
Thought I might get a bit more of a cross section of owners before I take it apart an see what is really inside.

My 02 Coupe is not - but I bought the car used.
My 2002 Helms Service Manual Vol 3, Page 8-216 - Interior Lighting Schematic - Titled - Inside Rear View Mirror Switch Backlight - shows a circuit for it.
Is anyone's lit? Have you ever seen one that is??
Thanks,
Phil
Mine are not on my '99 and I seriously doubt yours are supposed to be "backlighted" either. The circuit you are referring to may involve the small LED light (mine's yellow) that shines straight down on the console when the lights are turned on. To the best of my knowledge none of the C5s have backlighting on the switches you're talking about.
Can anyone else shed any "light" on this?
HTH,
Robert

That may very well be the case. It's just that half the time I'm fumbling around in the dark trying to find the button to turn on the map light and wind up turning off the mirror in the process.

Hey, I hear ya. I don't have the auto-dimming mirror. When I do need the map light I can usually get it done by feel. The only "indicator" that is on these switches is the white paint on one side of the rocker switch that provides a visual clue that the light has been turned on manually. The idea there is to serve as a reminder so you don't close the door and leave them on. Luckily the designers helped there too and the electrical system is monitored and they should shut off after 15 minutes or so.
