Default C5 HVAC controls are dim

I read the posts related to this problem. My issue is that not all the
buttons on the bottom of the panel illuminate when I turn on my lights in the evening; specifically my AC button and the fan control. Will the solution of removing the unit and resoldering remedy my problem?
Thanks for any feedback.

That will be a matter of taking the unit apart and replacing the burnt out 12v lamps with new ones from Radio Shack. I changed all of mine since I figured if a few are out the others were probably not far behind.

I probably should also add that the lamps are soldered onto the circuit board, so you will have to desolder the old ones and solder new ones in. And the lamps are in the 12v miniature lamp section at Radio Shack. It's a pretty easy fix.

Good luck!

Just replaced all of mine as well as resoldering the infamous resisitors to fix the dimming Digital Readout.

A couple of the switch lights went out then all of a sudden they all went. Got the bulbs from radio Shack and replaced them all. Everyting works fine now.

Follow this guide from Spdkilz's website, but use the bulbs rather then the LEDs.
