Clutch Disc Size
Is there a relationship to clutch disc size and clamping power? I've seen several sites that recommend a "smaller disk" for NOS or forced induction use - why is that? For example: Centerforce sells a 12" disc for regular use but recommends a 11.5 for nitrous.

A smaller disk would = more PSI (pounds per sq inch) in the contact area since the clamping pressure would be the same and it would be distributed over less area.
However it would also = less "surface area" which you would think would = "grabbing power".
All I know is that the larger the diameter disk, the longer the clutches seem to last for me, due to larger surface area.
