What's the best way to jack up the vette if you want to take one wheel off at a time? I'm replacing the rotors on all four corners. Was thinking of doing one wheel at a time or would it be better to lift the front end at once?
use an ice hockey puck under the jack point behind the front wheel and in front of the rear. if you reach under the rocker panel you will feel a space w/o fiberglass put your hockey puck here. You can lift both tires on a side this way or one at a time.
And make sure you have enough room to get a 1/2" drive breaker bar to remove the two 21mm bolts on each brake caliper.........Cuz you is gonna need it. Or have an impact wrench like I used to get them off. Mine were so tight it was rediculous. Just a tip before you get started.
you can do it with or without pucks.. for certain things pucks make it easier.. the hockey puck idea is pretty cool.. but a set of pucks were given to me..
The advice is greatly appreciated! When I had my wheels balanced, I noticed the shop opened the doors, hood and trunk before lifting at the proper points. Is this correct? Does it matter? They said they were reducing the stress generated form lifting.
