I believe most vette owners avoid the vinyl covers and would rather buy a used set (leather) that was taken out when someone else got new seat covers. Check (search) for threads that offer used seat covers. They show up quite often. Try "seat covers". Fill out your profile so people know how close/far away you are and what kind of vette your talking about (color, coupe, frc, vert., etc., auto or stick, modifications, more?). Doing this will help you. There are two basic types of seat covers: standard and sport.

The wetsuit material seat covers are very comfortable. I used to run a set before I installed harnesses in the car.

I use these. I used to use cloth in summer and sheepskin in winter. I hate leather seats.

I would try these if you're low on cash and you get a decent quality vinyl. Keep in mind the only part of the seat that is leather stock is what looks like the middle insert (the perforated part) and it's the flimsiest leather I've seen in a car.

The high wear parts like the bolster sides where you rub the seat getting into and out of the car are vinyl. The vinyl is a better choice in those areas since it is tougher and has the same color all the way through the product. On the 97s through 99s the bolster sides were leather and a lot of them wore through within a few days of car delivery. The ones on my 97 showed significant wear after 3 days and I taught myself a different way to get into the car in order to minimize the wear. The dealer authorized warranty repair on the seat and an upholsterer replaced the worn bolster side with vinyl which never showed any wear over the next 5 years.

The big problem with vinyl on the seating surfaces is its inability to absorb moisture. In hot weather your backside gets pretty damp compared to leather. Most comfortable seats are still cloth.
