Default tire size

i am starting to understand that the michellin pilots zp are highly regarded by forum members. i have 18 in rims all around. what would you think would be the optimum tire size. is the tire rack recommendation/stock tire size the best? this may be a stupid question but i haven't bought tires yet and want to make sure i am getting the best size since my tires/wheels are not staggered. do i stick with stock rear size all around or should i stagger size?

thanks

Default wow!

thanks for the great info! i have one more question, since i have 18 all around, should i use stock width and aspect ratio of 245/45 on an 18 in rim as opposed to a 17 in rim. in front while maintaining 275/40/18 on back or do i go with 275/40 on front as well as rear? make sense?

thanks for your help

Ultimately, you should be looking to find a tire that is similar in height to the original OEM tire height.

the OEM fronts are 245/45/17....tire height size=25.68"
Since you have a 18 in wheel, a 245/40/18 has a overall height of = 25.71"
VERY VERY VERY similar!!! Thats what i would go with for the fronts, notice the slightly lower aspect ratio?

Keep the 275/40/18 on the back...

So to recap...
Front 245/40/18
Rear 275/40/18

PS: I also have Michelin Pilot A/S ZPs and I think they are much better than the originals! I wouldnt hesitate to buy them again....

a 275 on the front would cause for more "tracking" and im not sure about any possible rubbing issues....
