CDs get stuck

Had the vette almost a year now, just tried to play my first CD this morning. Unfortunately, all did not go well. When I insert the CD, it sucks it in about 3/4, then the CD gets stuck. The readout displays ERR, and I have to pull the CD out by hand. I think I've see a procedure around here to reset something, but I can't find it through a Search.

I had this problem on a 95 firehawk. It still has my CD so I'm interested in the fix.

ttt... I would rather not take it to the dealer, even though it's under warranty... It would probably come out with only a tape deck, and scratches all over the interior...
