I thought I remembered someone running the new brakes on a C5 and they moved the rears to the front and bought another set of rear rims and added a spacer for rear. Guess not.

Why would you want to put C6 brakes on a C5?

Stock C5 brakes can easily lock the wheels (unless you're running ENORMOUS race compound tires) so what benefit do you expect to see? Try a more aggressive brake pad with the stock C5 calipers and you'll get more stopping power than your tires can possibly handle.

my cousin did that.. he used the stock rear 18x9.5" polished wheels on the front with a 1/4" spacer.. the rears were a rare set of aftermarket 18x10.5". hope this helps..

Was your cousin one of the first guys to run the C6Z brakes on his C5? I think that was the post I remember reading.

What kind of question is this ?? You are far too reasonable
This is America man, BIGGER IS ALWAYS BETTER, NEWER IS ALWAY BETTER. Are you some kind of subversive or what ? If it's on the C6 we WILL find a way to screw it onto a C5- shift *****, tires ,wheels, brakes , shocks, seats, heads, wipers, valve stem end caps - you get it now ?? It's a rare form of ***** envy, limited to the most part to Corvette owners.. How could you POSSIBLY suggest STOCK parts - we can engineer this car a lot better than GM engineers.

Are you saying that you can put the front C5 calipers on the rear of a C5? What do you need to do this? It would probably give the brakes a bit more bite and the calipers would look a lot better than the dinky things GM put on the back.

After a long time searching in the internet, I can say that there are a few wheel sets that could clear the C6 big brakes without spacers.
The most affordable wheel set is the Z07 from Corvette Garage (18x9.5, 53mm Front and 19x11, 63mm Rear).
If money is not an issue HRE wheels can clear the brakes for sure, BUT their prices are HOT!!
There are also some wheels in the CCW (Complete Custom Wheels) that could clear the calipers and there is a variety of wheels to choose from.
In any case, if someone decide to purchase the C6 brake kit, he should first try to find an aftermarket wheel set that could clear the breaks, with or without spacers installed and contact the dealer just to ensure that.

Take a look in my thread for more information.

I'm sure I will, I just keep going back and forth on rims. Either I find one that loses a lot of lip with a BBK or I find one that clears that I don't like as much. Either way, my brakes are getting bad and it's time to upgrade.

Besides looking good they will fade a lot less than smaller brakes, and a lot of us do run bigger tires.
