Pass side headlight bounces (I noticed it when when passing highway signs). I don't want to start pulling on it to see what is loose and S.O. refuses to be tied down to hood to check it out. Any thoughts or similar experiences? Bracket, motor? Thanks
Not likely a white stopper since once the motor stops the motor will not budge and the headlight will stay in place. The stopper only determines where the motor stops.
I had this issue and I'll bet you have the same. The motor arm attaches to the headlight door with a large 2" pin. The pin is held in place with a lock washer (pressure fit). In my case the lock washer fell off allowing the pin to slide out of it's bracket on one side resulting in the looseness of the headlight door.
With the headlight closed look down the back of the headlight door and you should see the pin and motor arm below the headlight door area. If the pin is dislodged on the inboard side you lost the washer. It's easy to replace - you should be able to find one at Home Depot or Lowes. Manually raise the light and remove the black bezel to replace it. Just make sure it's a real tight fit.
But, you need to get to it quick before the pin itself completely falls out.
