Default Homemade tool #J41760

Yesterday I had to reprogram my tire pressure sensors. A Kent-Moore tool
#J41760 was required. This is a big magnet that GM probably sells for big $.
Local hardware store has a "General" #376C shallow pot magnet that did the
job. This is a permanent ceramic magnet that has a 35# pull. Magnet is contained in a 2 1/2" diameter X 3/8" thick steel shell with a 9/32" hole in the
center. Drill out the hole to 1/2" so the magnet fits over the valve stems.
Magnet stays in place due to the pull of the iron brake components.
Cost = $5.

I just use a simple "magnetic part retriever" . Costs about $3 and works fine..

duosy,

Thanks. Other members have reported using an old speaker magnet for reprogramming.

You're right...any tool associated with $Kent Moore$ is high dollar. :D :yesnod:

Good luck.

I have yet been able to re program the sensors....I think its the magnet that I have that is not strong enough. Going to get a parts retriever magnet at home depot and try.
