It's apparent that the CALLAWAY "HONKER" moves the MAF on a C5/Z06 closer to the throttle body, ala C6/Z06.
Has anyone moved their MAF closer to the throttle body and what were the pros/cons of the modification (other than on a "HONKER" installation)?

...actually, the Honker, which was introduced in early 2004, had moved the MAF to that location before anyone ever saw the C6 configuration.
It allowed greater flexability in the design of the radius from the airbox housing, up and over the radiator shroud, coupling to the MAF and into the TB.
I will tell you this - if it did not work, or otherwise offer benefits for greater performance, it would not have been done, period.
Thanks, I didn't realize the time line. Maybe CALLAWAY knew of the C6/Z06 change to the MAF ahead of anyone else?
Now getting back to my question, has anyone done this with their MAF w/o using the HONKER air intake?
I recall some people with B body LT1 Impala SS cars claimed that the MAF move improved throttle response. Since CALLAWAY does it with the HONKER and GM did it with the C6/Z06, there must be benefits to it. So, I wonder why no one has done it...
