Default Another Column Lock problem

Yesterday I went out to drive my vette, it has been parked for 3 weeks or more. The battery was dead. So I jumped it. After jumping it the column was locked. I turned it off and turned the car back on and the column wasn't locked anymore. But it still says Service Column Lock. I looked up the info and found that the car was serviced back in 2001 for the CL.

What should I do? I'm really new to vettes and this problem.

Thanks,
Shane

Default column lock

The colum lock will lock at low voltage, try bringing up your battery, get a float charger, and keep it on there during the off months.

Harbor Freight has one for 20 bucks, It's not a fancy mount to your car model but it works very good I have three for my cars, they stand alot.

And get yourself a CLB, avoid this problem, once it happens when you are out someplace, and it costs you a big tow bill you would have been glad to pay for a CLB.

Trip to dealer & tow bill, a few hundred dollars
CLB, around 50 bucks

Read the Column Lock sticky post - pull the fuse to reset the BCM memory and that will reset the Service Column Lock message.
