Default *** L76 intake serious casting issues found - intake is JUNK

We were fighting a problem with a hanging idle on a car we just built. No matter how much we changed the tune the idle would still hang @ 2000rpms. We tried EVERYTHING! Well today I decided to cap off EVERY port on the intake and throw it back on hoping that something was leaking. Before I threw it back on I got a hair up my *** to pressurize it and guess what we found.... All of the 3 support structures in the center of the intake manifold were cracked and had 1/4" holes in them. All you guys that purchased off Ebay better check because the chances are pretty high that everyone got GMs trash because they failed a pressure test.

Would this be the LS6 Intakes on 2001+ vettes? or limited only to aftermarket?

Destroy means throw it in the trash.

You would be amazed at the stuff we throw out at work. I've seen rods thrown out by the 50 gallon trash can load.

Once upon a time when computer chips were worth something you could go dumpster diving at some electronics places and come up with some good finds.

I think it was with the new L76 intake manifold.

I thought that they destroyed the parts that failed to pass inspection, I guess I was wrong.

Not unusual. Lots of LS7 heads were being sold before they were truly 'available'. You wouldn't want a set of those heads.

Give me a call. I can hook you up.
