could you possibly be using a different fob when you notice a change? i think the climate settings are part of the driver 1, 2, or 3 memory setting like the seat/strg wheel position, radio channels etc. i am having a similar problem with mine in that the climate control comes on as auto and there is a way to set it in memory. i am still working on how to change the memory climate control setting. i saw it in the manual and i am trying to find out where it was! anyway, just an educated guess for what it is worth!

The irony of that is my fob hasn't worked for almost a year now. My seat memory etc all stay the same when the climate control resets to auto. Thanks for the tip, though.
I would have It looked at, If you have to replace the head unit you can buy them cheaper at Ecklers, Mid America or my favorite ~ (Corvette Central)
Best of luck, I hope It works out.

Best prices for new GM factory items are from either one of our two dealer forum vendors. Fred Beans or Fichtner Chev.
I don't think its the battery. It resets itself while the motor is running. Also, I fixed my head unit last summer so I'm pretty confident that isn't the problem. I will most likely bring it in to the dealer to take a look at.
Thanks for all the feedback.
