Congrats. I had the same pleasant experience when I discovered cracks in both my rear wheel thin polished spokes. Got brand new wheels. I don't blame GMPP at all for wanting to inspect for road hazard damage or other abuse before replacing defective wheels. Glad that they did right by you. Those out of warranty are pretty much screwed though, unfortunately. I think manufacturing defects on wheels should be covered for the life of the car, regardless. Again, road hazards, abuse, etc. not included.
The car is tucked safely back in the garage. The dealership did a spanking job. Not a scratch on the new wheel.
Couldn't be happier.
FWIW -The GMPP investment is now at break even. This plus a rear diff leak repair just about puts me even on my initial investment. And...the car is still warranted until 2008
It is nice to know you spent you money wisely. My new car warranty runs out next month and the GMPP kicks in. It's nice to know if something major happens I am covered but you know what, I still hope I don't need it.
