Default Engine question

What's the difference in engines in an 04 Vette and Z06, other than the HP ratings ?

The search function is a useful tool but to sum it up, the major differences are heads and a cam.

heads with smaller combustion chambers (to increase the comp ratio) sodium filled valves
after 01- the LS1 engine blocks were the same as the LS6 block as was the intake manifold.
The fuel system as a whole was also changed in 04
I also believe the LS6 has different fuel injectors

I am not sure if they did anything to the LS6 pistons or not...but I did read the older pistons were not coated as they are now...

Hope this helps!

The only reason I'm asking is because I have an 04 Coupe Comm. Edition and I'm looking to start modding. I was curious as to the differences in my motor and a Z06 motor.

This question has been asked and answered here so many times over the last few years that I lost count long ago.
The forum moderators have created stickies and/or expanded and improved the search functions over the years because of repeated question on the same topics.

The lack of a smiley or jester made your message easy to misunderstand. The point remains that the search function is a very valuable tool for many folks and can really help.
