Auto X Tire Help!
Looking ahead to next season, another set of wheels and some real sticky tires. I want to stay in the street tire class which mandates same size wheels and tires with no less than a 140 rating. This means up to 275's on the front and maybe 305's (?) on the rear. Whose tire is the recommended choice??? :confused:

Go to tirerack.com right now and order some BF Goodrich g-force R1A's. I ordered another set this morning. They're discontinued so my C5 in stock sizes 245 front $116/each and 275 rear $95/each!! hehe, I already have a set that I spanked this weekend at Texas World Speedway. They're great and for the price, you cannot beat them. :D :cheers:

Mike-- your only option at this time is the Hoosier tire. They are the only company to make 18" DOT rated autox tires. They are VERY pricy and do not wear that well. I ended up going with a set of 96 vette grand sport wheels and the Kumho V-700 tires. Rear size is 17" and wider so that the tire sticks out of the wheel well a bit. Bite the bullit on class or spend a lot of $, not much more choice. Kumho keeps saying that they will have an 18" tire but will not say when. Don't hold your breath.

You guys are missing the point that he is mentioning the treadwear to be no less than 140! ;)
In that case, I think your best options are
BFG G-Force
Michelin Pilot Sports
and Bridgestone Potenza S-02's
