Default Need help on shocks

I have a 2003 50th Anniversary Coupe that has the adjustable (Sport/Touring) suspension. I need replacement shocks, but I definitaly don't want to pay $4000. I've heard of people going with Bilsteins as an alternative route that is way more budget friendly. I've searched around & most places I find Bilsteins state that they won't fit Vettes with the adjustable suspension.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction on where to get these shocks and whatever other parts needed to work.

Thanks!
~Mike

dougrippie.com call them and ask him they will probably fit you won't have the adjustability. Randy will know in any case.

I would have said Bilsteins also but If they don't fit I guess not. I could have sworn that I read somewhere that you now don't have to pay an arm and a leg for the adjustable suspension shocks. I read It awhile ago & don't know how true It Is. I would call every Corvette shop I could and ask them where you could get the cheapest deal. I would google It also & see what you come up with. Sorry I can't help you. Best of luck & Happy Holidays

Thanks John for the heads up.

The easiest way of dealing with the select a ride shocks is to turn them off. This can be done in a few different ways.
1. The way we do them is disconnect the shock controler located in the driver's side trunk compartment. Pull the carpet back and you will see it, it has about 14-20 wires hanging out of it. Unplug, and remove if you would like to save 1 pound (racers). Then plug in a Tech 2 and turn off the selectable shock option. Then you will not have any codes and it will be like it was never on the car.
2. I heard of someone selling sims that you can plug in to the shock harness. That is all I know about this method.

Now you can put what ever shock you want. I love the Bilsteins!!!!!

Go to rat shack and get 4 10 watt 10 ohm resistors. Remove the connector and cut the wire at each old shock. Solder the resistor in between the black and white wire. Wrap it in something relatively water proof. Replug in the wire to the connector. Problem solved. You can run any shock you want to. I used c6 Z06 shocks and they are excellent for 200.00 delivered. But it is your choice. Good Luck. PM me if you need any further help.
