Going to work my oil pressure maxed out today the gage went max and the DIC said 130lbs. Drove the car round trip and it seems ok (about 100 miles). Temps were normal no unusual sounds.
I know about the oil pressure sending unit going bad and plan on replacing it this week-end.
If I shut the car off and wait a while then start it the gage does its normal swing, and the DIC starts out at around 124 then climbs to
130. Is this indicative of the sending unit being bad?

What else can cause the oil pressure to max out.
Bad pressure sensor. Standard Part PS108 or 308 or some such is the better replacement part. Search this forum. It's a known problem, lots of posts on the topic. DO NOT replace with the OEM sensor.
