Help Help oil Pressure 75psi.
I am aware of the GM problem with the oil pressure sensors... tonight mine went to 75 just cruising down the highway.
Got home and turned off the engine and the key back to on... pressure was at 30psi.
is this a bad sensor?
Can I drive it?

There will never be oil pressure with the engine off and the key in the on position.. That would be the same as getting a pulse from a person thats been dead for a few days... Replace the sending unit. This is probably the 2nd most common failure on the C5 next to the Column Lock problem. Make sure you torque the sensor to 15 lbs with a torque wrench, when you replace it, or you will be doing the job again, in a short while. Use a NAPA Auto parts store to buy a replacement.. I would not go to the dealership.. And yes you can drive it like it is with no worries until you have time to do the job

it must be fate in some ways because today I had an apt with the dealer to replace the seat bolster in my Drivers side thanks to GMPP. Perhaps I will let them do this too today.
