Shtn6,

Glad to see you are thinking of joining the club! I now average 17.3 mpg (city) but who cares! My car is running slightly rich but rich is safe! I went with cartek stage 2 heads and gm hotcam which is 112 lsa and I LOVE it! I dynoed at Geoffs at 396 rwhp and I get NO check engine lights or the like, Ed Wright did the computer programming and Geoff did drill a small hole in the tb plate to help at idle. The car idles great and you can barely tell it has a cam, unless you are a 'car guy'. I just got back from the cruise-in at Bowling Green, I beat an 02 Z06 on the track in BG and went 12.5 at 117 on crappy dunlop street tires. JUST DO IT but make sure you have Geoff or Brian at vett wrench or someone who KNOWS their crap do it. If you would like to get together just let me know. Also, I am going to the Rt 66 show in Joliet, let me know if you want to get together.

Regards

Shftn6:
The posts by Staged and Rschiltz are really well expressed practical side aspects of this potential mod.  They definitely apply and should be thought about. :smash: :smash: Did not mean to make light of what we're doing to the engines of our cars and that ramification to warranty issues and resaleability. Thanks to both for jumping in. :bb :bb

AMERICANBADAS:
The CNC combination was custom designed for my A4 car based on mods installed and future considerations. I think all of the tuners I spoke with (PTC, DRM, NMS, ARE) had "custom" combo's they recommended based on my base requirements (not too lopy an idle, good driveability and 50 minimum increase in rwhp/tq). The final hardware coupled with the custom PTC programming really makes this car haul. :D :D :D

50??? I would think you would be looking for 100

Thanks a million for meeting me this morning. Your car is awesome and fast! Now I can't wait to get heads and cam done. I brought my digital camera but was dumb and forgot all about it. Wish I would have taken some pictures of your car. We will have to meet up again. Maybe after I have my work done. Thanks again!!!

Biggest downside is smoking your clutch...The stock c5 clutch has trouble standing up to hard flogging. It WILL fail over time.

The other negative is the desire for even more horsepower....or tying to get the "permagrin" off your face during WOT runs
