2nd to 3rd gear grind, what does it mean?

2nd to 3rd gear grind, what does it mean?
The shifting is great from 1-2 and 3-4, but from 2-3, unless I depress the clutch all the way and give it a bit of a pause, then there is a grinding noise. When I'm shifting as I do for 1-2 and 3-4 and so on, it engagues very smoothly, just with 2-3 it grinds. New clutch??? :rolleyes:

SOunds like a synchro, and depending on how much grinding you've done, possible a 3rd gear.
I had a similar problem on the 1-2 and needed new scychros and a new 2nd. Covered under warranty.
I'd bring her in as soon as possible, because if a sychro self destructed, there could be pieces in there causing more damage.

So what does it mean that if I granny shift and it shifts fine...?

I just spoke to the dealer... said that it was probably a syncro... quote starting at $1100 :( Better tell my brother to granny shift for a while.
