It was only a few #s more...........well worth it for the longevity. My rubbers were ready to have total failure after 10K miles of my driving style……………and I may add more power so…of all the current options out there ………this made the most sense. Build with your end goal in mind I always say……..Coming from the driveline world, this 1310 set-up is more than beefy and should handle what ever I throw at it and then some……..considering I drive this 700+ miles on a trip, one less thing to worry about. My road course events are HPDEs...so I was never concerned with being the quickest…….just consistency, reliability, being able to finish racing, maximizing my current set-up, drive home like always and...........HAVE FUN!
Great choice in driveshafts - I researched this a lot and have been running Dougs' driveshaft for about a year. You might also consider using Roger Vinci's CNC'd drive plate, its a stronge piece. Best 60' so far launching at 1000 rpm is 1.36. Lamars' poly couplers lasted 4 months with my 760 RWHP. You get a bit more vibration but with that you also get this:

(Doug keep up the GREAT work - see you at the 2007 Nationals)
Check out page 52 in the Jan 07 issue of Hot Rod and page 43 in the Jan 07 issue of Popular Hot Rodding for what this drive shaft can do!!

Does the ECS driveshaft still slide in the torque tube housing or does it bolt directly to the bellhousing and trans like a traditional set-up. If it like a traditional set-up it sure would make clutch changes a lot easier. It would seem that you would need some additional bracing for the trans though.
Fits inside the OEM torque tube...........
I plenty of baseline slips with the old set-up, we will see what I can do with this shaft, Rosslers T-brake and a ~3800 stall
