LS7 clutch in a C5

LS7 clutch in a C5
A friends 02 Z06 is pretty much bone stock with GMPP remaining and 2nd gear is now grinding a little at high RPM WOT shift.
I know the trans guy at our local dealership and I asked if he would put an LS7 clutch in the car since he is gonna have the trans out while he fixes the 2nd gear prob. He said no problem, just bring me the clutch.
We're going to be putting a 100 shot on the car so I figure the LS7 clutch should be perfect for it right? We also like the fact it is a GM corvette clutch so as to sorta keep the car with original parts...esp if we ever had to warranty it again.
Any opinions on it? I did a search and found mixed thoughts on doing the LS7 clutch in a C5.
Or should we just leave the LS6 clutch and hope it holds on spray?
