I smoked my clutch on a launch pretty well the other night. It stank for a couple of days afterwards. The car is stock, and generally driven carefully - 48K miles. Other than the ocassional launch, I don't beat on it to much.
The clutch engagement seems to be a little soft. Could I have trashed the clutch, glazed it or done some other damage on a single launch? It doesn't seem to be slipping, but doesn't seem to bite the way it used to.
Of course, I may just be paranoid, and hypersensitive and nothing has actually changed...
Probably did a slight glazing on it. Get stuck in traffic, take 7 to Tysons in the morning. Once or twice, and it should start improving, and go away with time.
Might want to check the fluid resevoir for chunky bits, maybe replace the fluid. If you don't know what to look for bring it over and I'll show ya, I'm close.
