2001 C5 Radiators - 2 designs?

2001 C5 Radiators - 2 designs?
I notice that some radiator vendors list two designs for 2001 C5s (1st and 2nd design). Does anyone know what improvement the 2nd design has vs the 1st design.
Also, is the standard (non-Z06) C5 radiator made from aluminum?

Both the C5 and C5 Z06 use the same radiator. The stock radiators are aluminum cores with plastic tanks. I used a Ron Davis racing radiator in my 97 for track events and I switched over to my 03 Z when I bought that car. While making the switch I did not see any differences between the stock 97 radiator and the 03 Z radiator.
