Default Intake Question

Morning,

I just installed my catch can and I want to remove intake to clean. Can anyone tell me if I need to replace any gaskets/seals?

Thanks in advance!

Some will recommend it, but IMO it's not entirely necessary if all your o-rings are still good. Mine were fine at 40K when I did my LS6 manifold, so I didn't bother replacing them and no problems yet...

GM Part #12533587 should be them. I believe they come in a package of 8. Verify with your dealer before ordering.

Happy to help.

Being as the gaskets are probalby fairly cheap you can replace them but I honestly doubt they will need to be replaced. I've pulled my manafold several times and ever replaced them.

As long as the same intake is going back on the same motor, you should be fine. Inspect the gaskets to make sure the are not damaged, cut etc. Should be fine Good luck

I just bought a set and they do come in a package of 8 and they are not really cheap, but not wallet wrenching. My price (I have a wholesale account) was $54 and some change.

You should be fine keeping them on.

The car is tucked away for the winter, so I will check seals before I order them. Thanks again guys.

Pre-molded silicone that fit into grooves on the manifold. Like the others have said, they hold up well and barring any cuts, etc you should be fine reusing.
