Default Supercharger for daily driver?

How bad will the application of a supercharger affect drivability, sitting in traffic etc? Any recomendations on a specific unit for LS1 w/auto tranny would be appriciated. thanks

My 99 FRC has been since 99 and still is my daily driver, had a Maggie Intercooled SC installed 2 years ago at 64K now at 94K its still as smooth as silk! Great power in all ranges, no lag, just go, idles like stock, sounds like a turbin when you jump on it! Merry Christmas!!

Not sure why it wouldn't be okay to have a SC car as a DD, when there are many other cars coming out with them equipped with a SC off the showroom floor.

If I had the cash, my DD would be SC'd!

not a DD but I put 30k mile on it in a year. no issues other than user created (lost a belt at the drag strip) 1 delaminated crank pully (100k mile car). I have no problem putting bags in the trunk and going for a 1000 mile trip.

Not bad at all, you can still use your stock motor so you shouldnt have any effect on driveability. Just get a conservative tune so you dont blow anything up.

It can certainly be done. Just don't get too crazy with the hp. I think 475-550 rwhp is perfect for a street machine.

Do it. A Magnuson or a Procharger would be good choices.

I've had my A&A Vortech for about 7000 miles with zero problems. It would be no problem as a DD. Just don't get crazy with the tune.

I think a 475 - 500rwhp supercharger is the best way to go for a daily driver.

The magnuson is a really civilized package. IMO

With my current setup as listed In Sig. I drive about 9 months a year, once to Florida, Maine & once to Southbend to see Notre Dame play at home. I have 39k right now & about 32-33k with this current setup. I have the older Procharger system and the only Issue I've had was having to tighten the belt twice. The new system Is a much better/more reliable design. In 6th gear @ 70 mph my computer says between 26 & 27 mpg. As long as you follow your scheduled Mait. of the S/C and Vehicle you won't have any problems. I also used to go to the track every weekend before It was shut down & still no problems. Best of luck

Drove my 99 as a DD after the maggie install...no issues....I am getting ready to put a Dewitts radiator in as during the summer months I was having issues with heat while running the AC....I think it may be more due to the age of the radiator than the SC as it had not give me an issue before this past summer....

I use mine as a daily driver. I've got the A&A procharger kit and making close to 600 at the rear wheels (6 speed). Drive my car everywhere with no issues at all.

The only problem you will have with a SC'd DD is that your rear tires will just "go away" much faster!!

On the dyno from first pull to last progressive drops is power due to heat. This is why intake manifolds are now made of polymers instead of metal. Just ask tuners about this concern before you buy. Twin turbos are great also and very driveable on a daily basis.

I've often wondered..... WHERE does all that tire rubber go???
Seems it would be piled high on the side of the road.
