I recently had my Z06 lowered 1 inch. However, the car seems to bottom-out on high speed runs every time I encounter a dip or depression on the road (freeways or backroads). In lowering the car, did I comprimise the suspension travel on the car which in turn is affecting the pressure valving on the shocks and causing the car to bottom out?
My first instinct is to order a new set of shocks with stiffer valving such as Bilsteins (sport NOT heavy duty setting) or Pfadt ($$$). The ride on the vehicle is not that bad but unfortunately the car is bottoming out anytime I hit 70MPH speeds or above. I hate having to drive the car knowing I cannot open her up without managing around depressions or dips on the road. Any advise is greatly appreciated...
The stock shocks will bottom out if you lower the car more than the stock hardware allows. The Bilstein Sport shocks are about 1.5" shorter than stock, and work well with lowered cars.
If it's rubbing the inner fender than stiffer springs would be your best bet. If you don't have enough shock travel, the top mount can be turned over to allow more.
I've got a buddy whose got vette brake product springs available if your interested.
