I just bought a 2002 Z06. I have a question about my clutch, hoping someone can tell me what's going on. Let's say I take first gear all the way up to 6500 and shift second, back up to 6500, when I shift third, the pedal feel really stiff. What's going on? Is my clutch going out on me? The car only has 23,000 miles on it and it's hard to believe that the clutch would need to be replaced. BTW, this just started happening, it never did this before.... Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance
How do you know that this just started since you just bought the car ?
There are a lot of threads about clutch problems, you can do a search.
In general, change the fluid frequently to keep it clean. Use a higher quality fluid such as Motul 600 which has a higher heat tolerance.
You don't say whether or not you have stock clutch or after-market clutch. I would try the brake fluid trick first and see if that helps.

Checking posts for my buddy Derek, he's the one with the problem. He's already changed the fluid in hopes of fixing the problem, but no such luck. He has a stock clutch in the car and it's basically stock aside from long tubes.
It's kinda funny though, I remember experiencing the same issue just before I upgraded the clutch in my 2001 Z to a textralia. I never really found out what the problem since I changed the clutch right about the time it started acting up.
Thanks for the feed back though. We were thinking the same thing which is why we changed the fluid.
Any other thoughts?
