you referring to the one that looks like twin conical filters?
being the type of person who has a super kung-fu grip on his wallet, i opted for this one and installed it sunday. Works perfectly fine, same principal as the $$ ones and sounds wicked as hell to boot!

Sry its this one, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...6693448&rd=1,1. I see you are in st. pete?? Im at st. pete bch for a few more days then driving back to ok. So you installed it and did you notice a increase in power? Did yours have the hole for the temp sensor?

it looks like that except mine doesnt have that hole, it has a nipple for the rubber hose that connects to the stock air box, not sure what thats for bit it had a place to go so i put it on there.
I dont have any dyno numbers but i'm pretty sure throttle response is improved, and like i said, it sounds wicked at WOT.

Some things I have heard on this set up:
1. The air flow on each side crash into each other casuing turbulance?????
2. It is using hot air already in the engine bay, as opposed to a callaway or vararam that bring cold air in from outside the engine bay????
Just something to consider, not bashing. May want to try the zip tie mod first, I started with that prior to my Vararam and I did notice a little gain.
Good Luck either way.

Have it , the exact one you are looking at and same vendor.The hole will take your stock airbox grommet type hose fitting from the air pump.Place the hole facing down on the drivers side and stock hoses fit perfect. It is a big filter system and fits very snug.Very happy with this setup and I also feel a quicker throttle reponse with a roar at WOT.
The zip tie mod is removing or cutting your stock box top and strapping the filter down to hold it in place.
After reading a post from a few months back by a member that flow tested several setups including this style and I was impressed.

I bought one of those. There's no attachment to the car other than the MAF. The silicone hose was slightly large for my MAF - so it was loose. Couldn't get it to tighten down. Broke the hose clamp. Bought other hose clamps.
The thing wouldn't stay connected. Found the air cleaner disconnected from the MAF after 100 miles.
The attachment to the air pump needs to be fabricated. It's in a different spot than the factory and there's no nipple on it.
The biggest problem is that it doesn't mount to the front of the car and all the weight is sitting on the MAF and air bridge.
I'm back to stock.

I have one of these on my car with 2 k&n cone filters. It has a hole in it for the hose from the stock air box. I took the rubber grommet off of the air box. It fit perfectly into the hole on the new intake, then put the hose into the grommet. My setup works really good. Every once in a while you have to check the hose clamps to make sure they are tight. My setup has never come loose, I thought it was a really good way to save a few hundred bucks.

I actually bought one of those as well, I just haven't installed it yet. What I did with mine after a close inspection of it, was took a file and filed down both welds on the top and bottom if it so the coupler would sustain a tighter grip. The welds on those things stand up a bit and actually leave a smidge of air space on each side of the weld under the coupler. After doing that, the coupler fit a lot more snug to it making a tighter seal. Though I haven't installed it yet, I'm sure there's got to be a way of fabricating something that will help relieve some of the weight off the MAF sensor. I don't even have the hose that went to the stock airbox hooked up. The K&N filter that came on the car doesn't have a mount hole so it just lays in there not hooked up to anything. I understand you get what you pay for, but until I actually modify the engine, I don't think the more expensive ones would give me that much more gain.
