My 99' has been sitting in a heated garage for a couple weeks. When I tried starting it up today I only got a rapid clicking sound from the engine. The volts read 11.1. I put a charger on the battery for a couple minutes and it started fine. My question is. Is it most likely a battery problem (not the starter)? How do I chase down what is drawing down on the battery (I have a fairly new optima red top). Thank for you help.

that will do it everytime! try keeping a trickle charger on it! i am a jaguar tech, and our customers let their cars sit for quite some time. after about 2 weeks, the batteries will go flat. this is normal due to the car draws approx 0.3 of an amp to keep the KAM alive and the network on standby. also the security system will pull a slight draw.
just keep a trickle charger on it during storage and you will be fine!
Thanks for the help. I didnt think that short of time would be enough to run it down that low, but when you mention all the electronics it runs it makes sense.
