Here we go again, service column.......
Hello all, Happy New Year. My car has been sitting now for about a month and a half but I start it every now and then and let it run for bit. I went to start it on Saturday and the first thing I noticed was that it didn't make that little mechanical noise (column lock releasing), I started it no problem, it fired right up. The Remove Key Wait 10 Seconds message came up so I did. The Steering wheel was not locked while it was off, I started it up again and the Service Column Lock message came up. The Electronic Column Lock System recall was done sometime in 2001 so I don't know what the problem could be. Could it have to do with it sitting and not being driven for a little while. Any suggestions would help. Thanks in advance.

Low voltage will definitely aggravate the CL problem. Get a full charge on the battery, then try again.
Once it's going well, then install a CLB. GM's success rate with their fixes is, um, er, "underwhelming."
