My 97 uses GM # 12556609 for the AC.
The other belt is GM # 12555225.

Happen to know the part number for it an auto parts store? That number won't cross reference at Autozone and they gave me the wrong belt the first time.

Looking at the Autozone site I'd say their part number is 4040420

Which also matches the part number listed at Napa for a 1998 A/C belt

I got that one from Autozone and it is definitely a good bit shorter.

I've got 2 of them off of a 2001 - I think they are the same size as what you need - one has 24, 149 miles on it, the other has about 850 miles on it -

Switched the first one just because I was working on the car, switched the 2nd one cause I went w/ underdrive pulleys - PM me if you are interested

GM lists two belts:

12572188 which is the serpentine belt that drives the accesories such as the alternator, power steering pump, etc.

Napa ( www.napaautoparts.com ) lists this as part number NBH 25060802 when you search with the GM part number.

12569528 is the belt for the A/C drive.

When you search that on Napa it returns NBH 25040420

Using the GM numbers on the Autozone site returns no results. I'd buy it at Napa. Or use either:

www.gmpartsdirect.com

or

www.gmpartshouse.com

and use the GM part nuumbers to order on-line.
