Default ???? Which Cylinders Are On Which Side????

Simple quesiton

Which side is Cylinders 1,3,5,7 passenger or driver side? I had always thought it was the passenger side but I am not sure why I thought that.

Got a problem and I would like to describe which cylinder has the problem correctly. Don't want to sound like a NOOB!

1,3,5,7 are on the drivers side with 1 being the cylinder closest to the front of the car.

u can tell all v8 eng. no. 1 cyl. by looking at the heads the head sticking out more to the front of the eng. should all ways be the no. 1 because no. 1 piston is the first on the crank their for no.1 cyl.will be more forward making the head stick out more than the other head witch would no.2 cyl. because it is set back

Car is loosing coolant. No obvious leaks and I don't smell coolant. Going to pull the plugs this weekend and take a look to see if I have a beautifuly clean and sparkly plug or plugs. If so then I guess I get to do new head gaskets.

This is just wonderful timing after just buying a new transmission, differential and torque tube last month.

Ford: 1-2-3-4 passenger side, NorthStar: 1-3-5-7 passenger side.

And good luck.
