A4 trans have safety built in??
Today I noticed that I had shifted into neutral while driving at 40 mph. I put gear the selector in Drive and gave it some gas.. The engine stumbles (just exactly like it does when you try to power brake with the traction control on) before it went into gear... It got me curious, so I tried to simulate this again... Put it in neutral at 30mph then when to drive applying a little gas,, stumble stumble again before it went into gear.. Is this a safety design.. Car runs great otherwise. Should I be concerned?? And no, I don't normally drive around doing this stuff
