I just finished painting my front calipers this afternoon. I'll do the rears next week. They look so  the car just has to be faster :D here's a link to see the finished product. Let me know what you think. http://www.pagebypagedesigns.com/SEA...iew500x337.jpg
I painted the calipers without unbolting them. I used a lot of thin clear plastic sheeting then sprayed a lot of Brake Clean on the caliper letting it drip into a cardboard box full of newspapers to absorb the mess. Then I used air compressor to blow everything dry. Next was the masking tape and more plastic sheeting. I only painted the caliper, not the bracket or the brake pad. I used Wal Mart Ford Red :bb engine paint (it was a close match), just don't tell anyone I put anything Ford on my car okay? :jester The instructions on the paint can say to spray follow up coats within one hour or else wait 5 days. If you don't follow the instructions the paint will alligator... :cry :cuss as I found out and had to get the paint remover out and start over. After paint was dry I used a one sided razor blade to scrape the "Corvette" clean. Finally, clean the inside of the wheel and bolt it on to 100 lb. torque. Then it was  time.

Did you buy the paint from the forum vendor supporters here or Mid America catalog? The vendors here have them for $45 and Mid America has it for $25. I wonder if the quality is approximately same.
i just painted my front calipers this weekend. I got the paint from home depot its candy apple red , rustoleum. I brushed mine on, put 2 coats, and thin use fine 220 sand paper to get the paint off the letters. It looks so cool. I painted the whole caliper and bracket but not the pads.
THAT PICTURE IS HOT... or should I say COOL!!! The Mountains in the background with Trees just makes me want to drive back to North Carolina for a Blue Ridge Drive... The Green trees really made a good contrasting color for your C5!

Hey Dark Mercury,
My signature picture was taken this summer at Reflections Lake in Mount Rainier National Park outside of Tacoma, WA. Mount Rainier is an awesome background for an awesome car. I got a lot of compliments about the Corvette on the trip. And of course, the twisty mountain road was a lot of fun! :D
