Default Do you prefer the top or bottom?

I figured that would get your attention. The question is who has tried to remove their motor from the top (the conventional way) instead of dropping the drivetrain down? How much work is it to remove it the old conventional way and how long did it take you?

Pulling the motor from the top probably took 5 hrs with the drivetrain in place. I had to loosen the subframe almost to the point of dropping it, as well as having the top end off the motor.

The Bottom, definately Oh, sheeit, I went back and read your post, not just the topic as I did the first time. We're talking 'bout different things.

Did my first one out the bottom with out a lift..no fun.
A friend blew his and we are going to try the top method this time.

And I did it completly alone ....

I left the heads on but will leave them off for the install.

It wasn't too bad....The bell housing bolts are a pain to get out.

took mine out the top did not have a lift to remove from the bottom i did remove the ft.crattle completely out of the way also made it easy to get bell housing bolts out took about 3-4 hours but i am a tech. at a car dealer. good luck
