Weather was high 60s with probably 50% humidity, but I'm not positive. Track is Silver Dollar Raceway in Georgia. Altitude is about 500 feet.
12.398@108.5 then backed it up with a 12.392@108.66. 1.814 60ft on the 1st run and 1.808 on the second run. I was manually shifting and I think I may have hit the rev limited a little on both runs.
Had a few bad runs and then somehow ran a 12.479@112.25 with a 1.876 60ft! Not sure where that mph came from.
Dropping the car off tomorrow morning to install MMS S2 heads, 218 cam, TPIS headers and an LS6 intake. Can't wait to see the times then!
Good times! You should come over to Bama to the strip at Steele and run with DUKE and I. Steele is a faster track from what I understand about Silver Dollar. You might shave a tenth or two off of that time here.
How far is Steele from Atlanta? What times are test/tune?
Dropped the car off this morning for the heads/cam, etc. I think if I would have cut a 1.7 60 ft and manually shifted it like I did on the last run there was a 12.2 in it. Oh well, shooting for 11.60s now!
Awesome times! This is good food for thought as our cars are pretty similar
By the way, there are many on the forum who will argue that MPH is a better indicator of the cars power than ET. Actually, I think that is a kind of widely accepted fact. Could the MPH be a wee bit low because of the lower stall converter, I wonder? The high STR on the Y3k could lead to the awesome 60' but the lower stall might take off the top-end MPH... Not sure though...
I did have one run at 112 mph, which seams right to me. I think I may have tapped the rev limited on 2 runs and that is why my mph was around 108. With an automatic and 3.15 gears (which means I have to shift into 3rd) I wouldn't expect much better, my only real power mods are the Vortex and Yank. I doubt the Superchips programmer did anything and the x-pipe, maf ends and catback help much.
