Default Alignment Q: Car grabbing "ruts"

Got a question -

At "highway speeds" My C5 seems to like to grab those "road ruts" made by 18 wheelers in the slow and middle lanes, it makes for an adventurous ride at times. The car has Z06 sized tires all around w/ the 295's in the rear. Anyone had any luck adding a little "toe in" to stabilize it a bit? I don't want to add any wear to the tires so I'm not sure its even worth trying.

Running run flats? That could be part of the problem. Once they begin to wear they seem to "track" on ruts and any other markings in the asphalt

Hey Don I'm NOT a mechanic, but I drive Balto to NY in an 18wheeler almost 5 days a week. and Rt. 295 especially around exits 21 up to exit 36 the ruts ARE terrible. My rig has brand new michlin radials and those ruts even when dry just throw my rig all over the place. Try to drive in the fast lanes, because the big rigs can,t and the road is much better. Anyway in my opinion why change your set up because of **** poor roads. So good luck with your vette and keep away from those rigs and please drive safely. GREG O.

my old runflats did this with a passion. switched to non runflat firestone wide ovals and that went away. i also have the Z06 size front and rear. it was like driving a different car. the wet weather handeling is hands down better now also. and the ride, the ride much improved. not to mention the almost elimination of bump steer

The car has relatively new Firestone Wide Ovals, no runflats here.

I was on Rt. 78 today which is a VERY heavily traveled truck road. At about 70-90 it was really noticeable especially when I changed lanes. I also don't really agree with changing the car to make up for **** poor roads but I figured if I can make it a little safer, what the heck.
