From another thread, search button using these search words, ECS cam goodies, Chris form ECS....$2995.00 ecs cam of choice, comp921 springs, titanium retainers, asp under drive pulley, 2 new belts, roll master double roller timing chain, new crank bolt, front main seal, ported oil pump, ngk-tr-5 plugs, taylor wires, 160* t-stat, dyno tuning. If a smaller cam is used and comp 918 springs there is a $400.00 reduction in price. My car got 430/383 at the rear wheel, stock heads. I already had vararam, slp headers, slp hi flow cats and a 3" exhaust, flowing to the stock ti's.

Can you cruise along at 1500rpm or lower in 6th without bucking?

Do you happen to have a sound clip of the idle?

Do you think it has any chance of passing emmissions? Apparently LG has gotten a cam around 228/232, 115 to pass. I think it is their G5X1E, but the exact specs are secret

I would like to put a cam in my car that would make power like that, but I have to pass the emissions test in Virigina, and more importantly the wife test The car will have a Vararam, Ti's, cats, Kooks w/cats and probably no pulley.

Thanks. Sorry for all the questions.
Not trying to take the thread over, I've had this cam package in the car since Thanksgiving. 1. I can take my foot off the go pedal and putt-putt down my street at 10mph no problems, 2. Cruise along at 1500rpm on the parkway in 6th getting 26-29 mpg, 3. No sound clip, but cruising I can be on the cell phone and no one even knows I'm in the car and not at work, it idles like a 396 Chevelle, at WOT through the Ti's it sounds great 4. ECS told me no problem with emmission inspection,

Car drives smooth, its a little more aggressive at idle, but no surging or bucking and no problems in 6th.

No sound clip yet either

Hi Dick, Bob here. Yeah, I see these numbers too, I'll need the spec's of this cam for future reference. You guys are making me spend a lot of money. I wonder how to tell my wife that I need this cam? Thanks again Dick for letting me drive your car..AWESOME...... I told everybody at work about it. I wish I could tell the forum about the new Vette, only a handful of cars ON EARTH that will be able to beat this one! Dick, are you in Florida yet? Have a good time, I'll take care of Michigan..bob.

You guys are moving some cams man! I'm just glad TFS is a little slower with the heads!!!

Here is a vid of my car with the same cam, Trick Flow heads and a Fast 90, Ar Headers. (504rwhp/425rwtq.) The Cam only cars I've heard are a bit more mild sounding - if George ever gets his butt down here to look at my garage wiring I'd shoot some vid of his car so you guys can hear it. Drive-ability of this cam is awesome. People don't believe me but - hey their loss.

Great job again guys!

ECS Strikes again and hits another home run. Those are the BEST cam only with stock LS1 heads (with bolt ons of course) that I have seen to date and that is what a cammed up only C5 Z06 usually makes!!

Not to mention it seems from the feeback that the cam is NOT HUGE and is very streetable and that is a great stock headed Cam only LS1 torque curve for sure!!!

Wow incredible numbers... esp for LS1 castings. Shoot if I got those numbers on my Z06 w/ the G5-X2 cam I'm putting in I'd be stoked.

Just to be fair...the T-rex cam, which is popular over at LS1tech, has thrown over 440 rwhp on stock LS1 heads. Don't take this as a jab at ECS, because making that power on LS1 heads is great, I just needed to point out that it isn't the "best" cam only numbers.

Hammer

Yeah but doesnt the T-Rex cam have something like a 110 lsa - that would make it rough DD

So maybe this is the Best driveable CAM....

Hi Bob,

Yes I am down in Florida (Daytona). Glad you enjoyed the ride. I hope to have a new package (H/C) installed when I get back. You will have to come back for another ride.

You lose my cell number? When are you home? Better yet, when's the GF home? I shot a good vid, don't know how to post it. And yes this Cam is VERY VERY easy to drive in traffic/low speed.

damn you guys are full of ****. I told my wife I lost the cam and she is not believing me. Right now I am putting together a list of everything that is needed for this. Unfortunately I am to far from ECS to get their magic so I need to start ordering the stuff I need now.

Hammer

I dont take that as a "jab" at all Hammer, we actually have made more power with LS1 heads and a cam only before, but I felt the car was not very street friendly with that set up so we will not sell it as a package.

I apologies to the guys looking for the cam specs, we consider that proprietary information that we keep to ourselves. I understand that some may not want to purchase the cam because of it, but being that we have paid our techs thousands of dollars and I have spent countless unpaid hours tuning, and the cost of unused camshafts that didn't stack up to come up with the final build, we feel it is justified. You will find that most of the tuners with the highest hp cars feel the same way because they all had to do the same thing to get there also. I will say that it is smaller than what is considered the norm of a high hp n/a cam.

Great job again guys!

You will have some n/a competition this year on the road course Mike, there have been a handful of the N.E crew that have gone with the combo or at least the cam only lately.

Plus for the few that did not believe your car made over 500rwhp ....there have been two other shops now that have duplicated the power with our combo, The VDR's just got 497 with their cam and a set of TF's that the customer picked up from us. Like most combo's now we are figuring out not just how to make the power, but how to keep the car as drivable as possible.
Performance evolution I guess
