Ok... So about a month ago i started to notice a popping sound/viberation when i turn either direction. I can't find the source of the problem.
I can say that the powering steering fluid was over filled.. ya i know... and not just a little.. I'm not sure how screwed that up but some how i did... lets assume for a min that it's because of my fuild being over filled. What kinda damage would i have caused... I wish i could say this was someone else's fault but i know better... I f'd up...
btw turning is free and easy... so power steering deff works but as you turn you can mostly feel/hear the popping... it pops the more you turn it out... not louder popping just more of it...
example zig zaging within say a lane might yeild 1 pop both ways... a full turn might yield 3 pops both ways.
just jacked the car up in the air and let the tires hang free... got in and turned the wheels no popping... so what is different about turning wheel with the wheels free vs when on the ground???? the obvious comes to mind but i can't think of how this helps me if at all figure out what is wrong.. btw car was no running for this test...
Sounds as if when under load you have the popping. It could be the ball joints or the end links dry. Have someone turn the wheel while it is on the ground while you can examine it!
Just be sure if the car is on that the individual will "NOT" put it in drive while you're under the front doing the visual inspection. You also might try holding on to the rack to feel where the popping is coming from!
Let us know what you find! Two man job at this point.

It's either a tie rod end link binding...or ball joint...etc.
Check for wear in these area's. Sometimes noises like this can be duplicated when going over speed bumps slowly, and turning the wheel.
Also, when at full lock, go in reverse, and slowly back up. If it is any of the above stated ideas or possabilities...you'll hear it then.
Mine started the same thing about a week ago. It only does it in drive, and only within the first 5-10 minutes of starting the car, and only at low speed (ie in the parking garage). Strange.
big improvment. but i can still feel it.. i'm wondering if i'm paying to much attention to the feel of my steering.. I guess seeing as there is a huge improvement... I'm thinking it might be my bushings... I greased them up real good with some WD-40... I'm wondering if they are binding..
Suggestions for bushing??? Difference between Coupe and Z06 bushing?
could it be the shock bushings. I know that in my old camaro i had to change a strut mount when i had this same feel that you are talking about. I wonder if there is soemthing similar, i know there arent any struts, but something like it
Have you changed the sway bars? Mine caused popping on turns when not torqued properly. Thought sure it was an exhaust system problem. D*mned near drove me nuts!
